Full Tilt Poker WSOP Horse Event
Apr 14, 2008
The $50K HORSE event is once again included in the line-up for the 2008 World Series of Poker and Full Tilt Poker will be sending not one but two players to take part in this prestigious event.
A one day qualifier will be held on June 8th at 15:00 ET, with a $1,000 +$60 tournament fee where someone will win a package consisting of a $50,000 HORSE buy-in along with $2,000 for travel and hotel accommodations. Of course like any other promotion for this year’s WSOP event, Full Tilt has gone over the top by announcing they will be awarding two 2008 WSOP HORSE events which both packages totalling $104,000.
If you don’t want to pay the full buy-in to the HORSE qualifier, you can satellite your way in starting at $24 + $2 and climbing from there. You can find these games by logging into your full Tilt account and selecting Tournaments than Satellites.
In 2006, the World Series of Poker held the first ever HORSE event with an unprecedented $50,000 buy-in. The buy-in was significantly greater than any other event in the series to try and steer away players who play on luck vs. Skill which meant the best of the best came out in numbers. The final table was broadcasted on ESPN and the world watched as Chip Reese was declared the winner after a seven hour heads up battle against Andy Bloch, taking home over $1.5 million. Freddy Deeb won the 2007 event, nearly doubling Reese’s winnings with over $2.2 million in cash.
HORSE is a combination of mixed games and requires that the players have skill in each variation including; Holdem, Omaha, Razz, Stud and Stud Eight or Better. Full tilt provides a great resource for both beginners and advanced players by offering play money cash and tournaments along with a wide variety of real money games.
