Phil Gordon
 Phil Gordon is another professional poker player with a background in technology. Phil graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in computer science and worked for a start up company that was acquired by Cisco Systems. Gordon became independently wealthy with the acquisition and retired from the high-tech industry in 1997 and traveled the world before entering the WSOP Main Event in 2001. Gordon finished 4th in this event, winning $400,000.
In 2002 he made two more WSOP final tables, finishing 6th in the $2,000 Pot Limit hold’em event and 3rd in the $2,500 Omaha Hi/Lo Split event. At the 2005 WSOP he finished 3rd in the $1,500 No Limit Texas hold ‘em Shootout event. Gordon has not yet won a bracelet, but, to date, has won $641,073 at the World Series of Poker.
Gordon made one World Poker Tour final table in 2002, finishing 5th in the Ultimate Bet Poker Classic. Also in 2002, Gordon won the professional division of the World Poker Tour inaugural tournament in Aruba. In March 2004 he won the WPT’s Bay 101 Shooting Stars Tournament.
In November, 2006, Gordon won the Full Tilt Poker Championship at Red Rock, winning $600,000. As of 2006, Gordon’s live tournament winnings exceed $1,600,000.
Gordon is the author of three books, Poker: The Real Deal, Phil Gordon’s little Green Book: Lessons and Teachings in No Limit Hold’em, and Phil Gordon’s Little Blue Book: More Lessons and Hand Analysis in No Limit Hold’em. He also has released an instructional DVD, Expert Insight: Final Table.
