Howard Lederer

Howard “The Professor” Lederer is an accomplished young poker player with 2 WSOP bracelets and 2 WPT titles. In 2003 he was named WPT Player of the Year.

Howard Lederer moved to New York at the age of 18, initially to study chess, but his passion for poker soon prevailed, and Howard used his years in New York to develop his poker skills. In 1993, he moved to Las Vegas where he continued to improve his game, and in 1994, he earned his first Hall of Fame title when he won the $2,500 No-Limit Deuce to Seven Draw event at the 1994 Hall of Fame Poker Classic. In 1995, he earned his second title by defending his Deuce to Seven Draw title at the 1995 Hall of Fame Poker Classic.

In 2000, Lederer won the first of two gold bracelets in the $5,000 Limit Omaha Hi/Lo event at the 2000 WSOP. In 2001, he won his second gold bracelet in the $5,000 Deuce to Seven event at the 2001 WSOP.

In November of 2002, Howard won his first WPT Championship title. In March of 2003, he won his second WPT Championship title in the $5,000 Limit Hold’em event on the Poker Million cruise. Also in 2003, he won the first of three Bellagio titles in the $2,500 No-Limit hold’em event at the Bellagio Five-Star World Poker Classic. His second Bellagio win came in April of 2004 at the $2,500 No-Limit Hold’em event, and his third Bellagio win came 13 days later in the $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event.

Currently, Howard provides commentary and analysis on FullTiltPoker.Net’s “Learn from the Pros” and FSN’s “Poker Superstars Invitational Tournament”. As of 2006, his total live tournament winnings exceed $3,200,000.
